You don't need a huge garden, a greenhouse or years of experience to start growing something. Sometimes it begins with a few herbs on a kitchen windowsill. Maybe it's a houseplant that somehow turns into five. Or perhaps you've got a garden and want to make more of the space you've already got. That's what GrowHaus is here to explore. It's the growing side of Spacelo, covering everything from indoor plants and home-grown food to small-space gardening and the everyday job of keeping plants alive. Whether you've got a windowsill, balcony, patio, garden or a mixture of them, the idea is simple: help you find ways to grow that work for your space.

There's something particularly satisfying about eating something you've grown yourself — even if it's only a handful of basil added to dinner. Grow Your Own is where we'll explore growing herbs, vegetables, fruit and even mushrooms at home. Some articles will be for people with gardens, while others will focus on growing indoors, in containers or using compact growing systems.

We'll look at what you can grow, where you can grow it and practical ways to get started without making things unnecessarily complicated. You don't need to become completely self-sufficient. Growing enough mint for a mojito still counts.

Houseplants can completely change the feel of a room, but finding the right plant isn't always as simple as choosing the one that looks nicest in the shop. Different plants need different levels of light, space, humidity and attention. Indoor Plants will explore plants for different rooms and conditions, from easy options for beginners to more unusual plants worth discovering.

We'll also look at ways of displaying plants around the home and how to choose something that actually suits the space you want to put it in. Because the best plant for your home isn't necessarily the one currently taking over your social media feed.

A small outdoor space can still do quite a lot. Small Space Gardening is dedicated to balconies, patios, compact gardens and other outdoor areas where every bit of space matters.

We'll explore container growing, vertical gardening, compact plant varieties and ways of combining plants, food growing and somewhere to actually sit. This is also where we'll look at new ideas designed specifically for smaller spaces — because having less room shouldn't mean giving up on having an interesting garden.

Getting a plant is usually the easy part. Keeping it happy can be slightly more interesting. Plant Care is where we'll tackle watering, feeding, repotting, propagation, pests and those moments when a perfectly healthy-looking plant suddenly decides to develop three yellow leaves.

Rather than assuming there's one rule that works for every plant, we'll look at what might be happening and what you can do about it. The aim isn't to turn everyone into a plant expert. It's to make understanding what your plants need a little easier.

GrowHaus isn't about creating the perfect garden or filling every available surface with plants. Some people want to grow their own vegetables. Others want one plant that will survive in the corner of the living room. You might have a large garden, or the entire growing space available to you might be a sunny windowsill.
